Gin “Coca Leaf Red” Amuerte is a brand created in Belgium by two young enthusiasts, who have a long family experience in the field of distillation. It is a label characterized by the use of two very particular ingredients: rare Pineberry white strawberry and Peruvian coca leaves . Together, they contribute to giving the distillate fruity nuances and a typical vegetal connotation. The Gin also stands out for the choice of very particular packaging. The red bottle, with the macabre image of the skull, was created by Latin American designers Havi Cruz and Adrian Domìnguez. It is hand-drawn and embellished with gold foil decorations.

“Coca Leaf Red” is a Gin from the Amuerte distillery, which presents a unique recipe of its kind. For the production of Gin, a selection of botanicals chosen during travels around the world is used, in order to find the right aromatic, original and harmonious mix. At the base of the distillate are: juniper, cardamom, coriander, Sichuan pepper, tamarillo, oranges, red pepper, papaya, South American dragon fruit, Peruvian physalis, finger lime and pineberry. To these ingredients, coca leaves are added, collected in the Peruvian forests and generally used by the Indians as a medicine and tonic to relieve physical fatigue at altitude. The aromatic principles of botanicals are extracted through a slow infusion process in alcoholic solution , to then proceed to distillation in traditional stills. During this phase, the coca leaves lose their active ingredient, but leave the distillate with precious vegetal, herbaceous and slightly bitter aromas, which characterizes its bouquet in an original way.

The “Coca Leaf Red” Gin, made by the Amuerte distillery, is a bottle dedicated to enthusiasts looking for something new, a Gin that departs from the classic profile of many products with a somewhat standardized taste. In the glass it has an absolutely transparent, crystalline and brilliant color. The olfactory profile is characterized by a bouquet that expresses delicate and intriguing aromas of small red berries, intense and fragrant aromas of wild strawberry, tropical fruit, delicate sensations of oriental spices, subtle herbaceous nuances of coca leaves, on a balsamic background, dominated by a pleasant juniper note. The entry on the palate is warm, soft and persuasive, with a harmonious taste and a gentle sweetness of tropical fruit, which makes the sip elegant and satisfying. The finish is fresh and balanced, with a return to vegetal sensations.
