'Abatemasi' Negroamaro is a Puglian label with a warm and full taste, made by the Produttori di Manduria winery. This cooperative, founded in 1932, brings together about 400 winegrower members, all highly motivated to enhance their land with its excellences. In addition to the continuous pursuit of quality, Produttori di Manduria is committed to sustainability and social responsibility, strongly raising awareness among its members regarding environmental protection and guaranteeing them high working standards at the same time. This aligns with the adoption of integrated pest management for plant pathogens, which involves minimal and rational use of pesticides by implementing a series of practices and precautions that reduce the need for treatments in the vineyards.
Produttori di Manduria's 'Abatemasi' Negroamaro is produced from a solid base of Negroamaro, to which 10% Primitivo grapes are added. The bunches are harvested by hand, typically around mid-September, and then crushed in stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature, never exceeding 25 °C. After the fermentation process, the mass undergoes 12 months of aging in oak barrels before bottling.
Visually, Produttori di Manduria Negroamaro 'Abatemasi' reveals an intense and concentrated ruby red color. On the nose, initial fruity hints of ripe cherry and blackcurrant compote blend with perceptions of humus and undergrowth, as well as aromas of sweet spices such as vanilla, cinnamon, and dark chocolate. The taste is warm and smooth, with fine and smooth tannins and excellent persistence.
