Primitivo di Manduria "Lirica" is a Puglian red wine made from the most typical grape variety of the region. Aging in large barrels is the right compromise to savor its fruity side, rich in primary aromas, enhanced and made more mature and complex by a brief passage in wood, which already offers pleasant evolutionary notes.
The "Lirica" red reveals the most classic and typical character of Primitivo from Cantina dei Produttori di Manduria. This winery has over 400 members, managing 900 hectares of vineyards, more than half of which are planted with Primitivo. The age of the vines ranges from 20-50 years, and the most common training system in older vineyards is the traditional alberello (bush vine), while newer plantings often use espalier. The average density per hectare ranges between 4000 and 5000 vines, with a yield of less than 90 quintals per hectare. The presence of so many plots allows them to choose the best grapes every year and consistently produce quality wines.
Primitivo di Manduria "Lirica" from Cantina dei Produttori di Manduria is a wine with a typically Mediterranean profile, a great Southern red, soft and enveloping, with very ripe and expressive fruit. The color is intense ruby red with some garnet hues. The bouquet expresses aromas of ripe plum, cherry, small dark berries, hints of undergrowth and Mediterranean scrub, spicy and toasted notes, slightly woody. On the palate, it is warm and intense, with rich and dense fruit, notes of chocolate, carob, an already evolved tannic texture, and a soft, spicy finish.
