The Kraken is a spiced rum blend obtained from the fermentation of sugarcane from the Virgin Islands, to which a secret blend of 13 spices is added after 12-24 months of aging in oak wood. It has a very dark, almost inky color and a strong spicy aroma, which then smoothly opens up to the presence of ginger and a light hint of licorice on the finish. The Kraken has a caramelized, toffee, and spicy aroma. The taste is cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg with a spicy and persistent finish. The Kraken uses only natural ingredients and is gluten-free.
The Kraken is named after the surviving barrels stained with black ink from the Kraken, after the beast sank the ship that was transporting them. Thanks to its distinctive shape, the Kraken bottle has a strong visual impact and its silhouette recalls rums from the Victorian period.
